Travel & Stay
Travel
Most of you will touch down in Naples first (do not leave the city without grabbing an authentic Neapolitan pizza!). Once you’ve had your slice, here are the three options to reach Sorrento:
Train: The Circumvesuviana departs from Naples Central Station. It is the most budget-friendly option, but it can be quite crowded in the summer. Take it if you arrive with an open mind for a local adventure!
The Ferry: Take the hydrofoil from Naples (Molo Beverello) directly to Sorrento Port. It’s fast, affordable, and offers stunning views of the coast as you arrive.
Private Transfer: For a stress-free experience, you can book a private car. While more expensive, it’s a great option if you are traveling in a group and can split the cost.
A Note on Driving
We strongly advise against renting a car. The coastal roads are famously narrow, traffic is heavy, and parking is nearly impossible. We want you to spend your time sipping Limoncello, not searching for a parking spot!
Stay
For the reasons mentioned above, we recommend staying in Sorrento Center, preferably choosing a place within walking distance of the venue.
There are incredible Airbnb options throughout the town that cater to every style. This is often the best way to find a charming local vibe at a great price point. If you’re looking to treat yourself for your Italian summer holiday, these are our top picks:
Hotel Bellevue Syrene (Our wedding party location)
Grand Hotel Excelsior Vittoria (Where Lucio Dalla famously wrote the song Caruso)
Stay a while?
If you have the time, we highly encourage you to extend your trip! Whether it’s a boat day in Capri, a sunset in Positano, hiking the trails of Nerano, or discovering hidden beaches along the Amalfi Coast, the options are endless.
If you're planning to stay longer, please let us know - we have enough insider recommendations to fill a whole year!
